All-rounder Steven Mullaney has been named Nottinghamshire's Player of the Year.

Mullaney accepted his award at the Club's Gala Dinner on Wednesday evening after a season in which he firmly established himself as an opening batsman in the LV= County Championship.

Club Captain Chris Read made the presentation and praised Mullaney for his contribution in all formats.

"He's looked the most stable batsman we've had at the top of the order in a while and he's made the adjustment look easy," said Read.

"He also makes a big difference to our limited overs sides and works very hard at improving his game."

Jake Ball took home the Young Player of the Year Award after a season of consistent excellence with the white ball while Adam Tillcock was acknowledged as the Most Improved Academy Player for the second successive season.
