Nottinghamshire’s Second Eleven completed an innings victory over Gloucestershire with a day to spare.

Gloucestershire struggled to find any momentum with the bat as they slumped to 108 and 87 all out either side of Nottinghamshire’s 330, punctuated by 54 runs from captain Paul Franks.

Andy Carter returned first innings figures of 5-15, blowing away the tail after removing opener Sam Bracey for five.

Franks’ 76-run partnership with Graeme White was the highlight of the Nottinghamshire batting effort with Hassan Azad chipping in with 36.

Resuming on their overnight lead of 83, Nottinghamshire's not out batsmen, Adam Tillcock and Brett Hutton shared a stand of 52 before Tillcock was bowled by Taylor for 34, the score on 235-7. Hutton remained solid throughout the innings, supported by Ben Phillips (25) then Jake Ball (31) who shared another 50 plus stand with Brett who finished unbeaten on 49, the visitors final total 330 in 109 overs.

Gloucestershire trailed by 222 when they commenced their second innings and were soon in trouble with the visitors pace attack all chipping in to remove their first three batsmen for 28 runs. Graeme White took  a further wicket before tea to leave the home side 40-4.

Resuming after the break Gloucestershire added just 17 runs before Jake Ball took his second wicket, trapping Shrewsbury lbw for 7. The final 5 wickets fell for just 30 runs with Sam Wood taking 4-14 which included a hat trick and when Khan shouldered arms to Graeme White and was bowled it was all over.
