Mick Newell plans to keep faith with an unchanged Nottinghamshire eleven for tomorrow’s LV= County Championship game against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Nottinghamshire are the form team in the division having beaten Durham inside three days last time out to continue an unbeaten run that now stretches to six games.

“We have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes which is particularly pleasing given that we have made enforced changes to the side,” said Newell.

“Our away form has been particularly pleasing and we’ve given ourselves a fighting chance of finishing in the top four.”

Notts were heavily beaten by Warwickshire at Trent Bridge in May and their hosts remain in contention for the Championship with a game in hand on league leaders Durham.

“Warwickshire have had an excellent season and they managed to get on top of us at Trent Bridge with some aggressive bowling,” said Newell.

“They are a different side without Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott but they have no shortage of motivation to try and win this game given where they stand in the title race.”

Ben Phillips and Charlie Shreck will travel with the squad although Newell’s desire to name an unchanged team means that Alex Hales will be included having returned from England duty.

Samit Patel is unavailable as England continue their One Day Series against India with Graeme White continuing to deputise.
