Notts Premier League
Notts Academy 276-9 (50 overs ) drew with Cuckney 262-6 (50 overs)
Academy 16 pts Cuckney 10pts

Brett Hutton ensured that Notts Academy came out on top against Cuckney with an over of power-hitting that separated the two sides.

Hutton hit Bostock for 27 in a single over to finish with 35 not out from just nine balls.

This was the icing on the cake on a good batting pitch that the Academy took advantage of after winning the toss.

Runs flowed for Sam Wood (38) and Sam Kelsall (53) who had an opening partnership of 78, the middle order lost their way as the score slowed to 114-4.

Then came a fruitful stand of 119 between Hassan Azad, making a rare appearance for the team, and Tom Rowe who batted at six instead of his usual opening position.

This seemed to make no difference Rowe's prolific run of scores as he notched 71 in his usual style whilst Azad stroked his way to 55. There were two run outs to take the score to 249-9 before Hutton's blitz.

The Cuckney response was led by Adam Burgess who made all the early running scoring 78 along with skipper Richard Stroh who struggled with his timing for the earlier part of his knock.

Adam Tillcock claimed two wickets to dismiss Burgess taking a sharp return catch and then having Ullyott caught. Stroh then launched an attack on his bowling and the Academy were relieved when Hutton returned to the attack to clean bowl him for 82 with the score on 224-5 in the 46th over.

A further wicket, this time for Jake Ball, ensured that the Academy score would not be overtaken.
