England Captain Andrew Strauss has paid tribute to the collective performance of his side after leading an Ashes series win on Australian soil.

England were dominant once more as they secured a 3-1 victory in Sydney.

"We came over here desperately wanting to win the series," said Strauss.

"Obviously in Melbourne we retained the Ashes but we really wanted to finish with a bang here in Sydney.

"All credit to the guys, they've been outstanding again, the way the bowlers bowled on day one, the batsmen dipped their bread in it again and we got another victory."

England will immediately focus on their one day series in Australia ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup. James Anderson will be rested for the initial ODIs with Steven Finn expected to deputise.

Nottinghamshire bowler Stuart Broad continues to work towards full fitness and has targeted a World Cup return.

Broad and Notts teammate Graeme Swann will both hope to be involved when the Ashes Winners return to international action on English soil. Trent Bridge will host an npower Test between England and India and a NatWest Series One Day International against Sri Lanka.
