Australian batsmen David Hussey and Adam Voges will serve as Nottinghamshire’s overseas players next season.

Voges will be available from the opening day of the season with Hussey set to feature for the first time when Notts Outlaws play Derbyshire Falcons at Trent Bridge in the Friends Provident t20 on Friday 3 June.

Both players will be available for the duration of the Friends Provident t20 competition with Hussey staying on to complete the season with Nottinghamshire, subject to international commitments.

“Adam and David made big contributions for us last season and the prospect of pairing them in the Friends Provident t20 is something that we’re very excited about,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“It is very difficult to secure a player for an entire season but these two have established themselves as our preferred options and their availability suits us.”

“It’s great that Notts give me a regular opportunity to play county cricket and I want to help the team to make a push in all three competitions.” - David Hussey

Hussey scored 399 runs in five LV= County Championship matches last season whilst Voges hit a superb century against Lancashire as Nottinghamshire secured the title at Old Trafford.

“Winning the Championship with Nottinghamshire was a major highlight of my career and I am looking forward to returning to Trent Bridge and picking up where I left off,” said Voges.

“Being in the same Nottinghamshire team as David Hussey will be a strange experience for me because it has been one or the other in recent seasons but we both share a real affinity for the club.”

Both players have enjoyed international recognition with Australia this winter and Hussey has secured a lucrative contract in the Indian Premier League with King’s XI Punjab.

“I’ve built a great relationship with Mick Newell and all of the players at Notts and I am looking forward to spending more time at Trent Bridge in 2011,” said Hussey.

“It’s great that Notts give me a regular opportunity to play county cricket and I want to help the team to make a push in all three competitions.”
