Nottinghamshire bowler Stuart Broad has made himself available for an immediate return to Eng;and's 50-over side for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Broad has spent time at Trent Bridge and the ECB National Performance Centre at Loughborough University in a bid to get back to fitness following his withdrawal from the latter stages of England's Ashes tour with a torn stomach muscle.

"I'm 100 per cent fit now and excited about the chances of playing in a World Cup," said Broad.

"I've been in the gym and in the nets but I'm excited about that competitive edge you get on the pitch and excited about our chances as well.

"We know we're a talented ODI team it's important we get four or five injured players back on the park and we'll be almost at full strength."

Broad hopes to be named in the team to face Canada in a warm-up fixture in Bangladesh on February 16th although club team mate Graeme Swann will join in the preparations slightly later as he recovers from a back strain.
