Stuart Broad has signed a new three year contract with Nottinghamshire.

The England bowler is centrally contracted by the ECB but the terms of his deal will come into force should he lose his position in the England setup.

Broad's commitment at Trent Bridge now extends to the end of the 2013 season and he will feature for Nottinghamshire when the ECB allow him to do so.

"We fully expect that Stuart will maintain his place in the England team for years to come but this contract re-affirms his commitment to Nottinghamshire," said Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

"We knew he was in the England selectors' thoughts when we signed him in 2008 and although his county appearances have been limited, he has always performed exceptionally well when he's turned out for us."

Broad took five wickets in eight overs as Nottinghamshire beat Somerset at Trent Bridge last April and returned 8-52 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in July to contribute to the club's LV= County Championship triumph.

He continues to make good progress in his rehabilitation following the injury that cut short his ICC Cricket World Cup campaign and hopes to be fit to feature for Nottinghamshire before the commencement of England's summer programme.
