Welbeck Colliery 209-5 (5pts) lost to Notts Academy 210-3 18pts

On the final day of the season the Academy altered the batting order much to the delight of Brett Hutton who recorded his first ever century at this level.

Chasing a target of 210 from 46 overs Hutton batted throughout the 42 overs of the Notts innings to walk off the field with 102 not out. He faced 115 balls hitting eight fours and two sixes and sharing in a fourth wicket stand of 141 with Sam Kelsall.

Kelsall in his usual unhurried fluent manner stroked an undefeated 71 from 94 balls with seven fours as they took full advantage of an easy paced wicket. Guy Darwin took the wickets to fall, those of Bobby Gamble (23), Dan Cumming for six, made from one hit, and Adam Shepherd first ball, to finish with 3-46.

Welbeck batted on winning the toss and had an opening partnership of 140 between Martin Dobson and Matthew Higgins. However it took 34 overs and they were tied down by the spin of Akhil Patel and Sam Wood.

Dobson was first to go for 65 caught and bowled by Patel who then dismissed French and Murphy to finish with 3-46 from 12 overs.

Sam Wood dismissed Higgins (98) and Vikram Atri to finish with figures of 2-65 from 14 overs.
