Notts Outlaws will name five ICC World Twenty20 finalists in their team to face Somerset in the semi-final of the Friends Provident t20 after receiving clearance to include England duo Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann.
Ryan Sidebottom, Dirk Nannes and David Hussey will also feature as Notts look to field their strongest ever Twenty20 line-up.
Essex Eagles will also benefit from the availability of centrally-contracted batsman Alistair Cook but Hampshire are unlikely to include Kevin Pietersen despite being given permission to do so.
“We will select the best players available to us and Stuart and Graeme will add significant strength to our team,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“We’ve used a lot of players to get to finals day and everyone has made a good contribution.
“I’ll talk to the players who will have to make way for Stuart and Graeme but everyone understands that we will pick the team that will give us the best possible chance of winning the match and progressing to the final.”
Newell is yet to decide how best to utilise Swann who has opened the batting in previous campaigns.
“We’ve got excellent bowling options but I need to make sure that our batting is as strong as possible,” said Newell.
“There are different options to consider and I’ll have some discussions and work out the best fit.”
