Second Eleven Championship
Nottinghamshire Second XI v Derbyshire Second XI
Day 1 Notts 291-7

Luke Fletcher rescued the day for the Second Eleven at the Notts Sports Club with his first hundred in senior cricket.

Coming in with Notts in some trouble at 127-6 Fletcher took the attack to the visitors reaching his fifty in 71 balls with a six & seven fours. His second fifty came in a further 38 balls as he hit a further 36 in boundaries with three maximums ,being particularly severe on Ross Whiteley ,who had caused Notts early problems, hitting sixteen from the last three balls of his 17th over causing him to be withdrawn from the attack.

Mitchell Gowland played his role in the recovery with a patient 38 adding 101 for the seventh wicket with Fletcher.

Jake Ball entered the fun with a brace of sixes & fours to end the day on 25 not out alongside Fletcher's 101 undefeated.

On winning the toss Notts had a bright start thanks to Akhil Patel with 26 taking advantage of some loose opening bowling.

Neil Edwards (29) also look set before he was lured down the pitch by Jake Needham only to be stumped by some distance. Bilal Shafayat (23) wnet leg before and this led to a mini collapse to leave the home side on 98-5.

Rain drove the players from the field around 4pm and Notts will look to see if Fletcher and Ball can continue to make progress.
