Chasing 281 after confident partnerships between Michael Lumb and Jimmy Adams and then Adams and James Vince, the Notts batsmen couldn’t muster a threatening reply and collapsed to 139 all out inside 33 overs.

Samit Patel’s 28 was the most significant Outlaws contribution and having lost the top four for 86 runs, Hampshire’s 281-6 was well out of reach.

Chris Read’s return behind the stumps and two wickets for Akhil Patel were the obvious highlights for the visiting team but familiar foe Imran Tahir finished with 3-30, including the dismissal of Kevin O’Brien to end the contest.
