Pace bowler Brett Hutton marked his Second Eleven with a five wicket haul against Scotland on the second day of the three-day friendly at Cleethorpes.

Resuming on 94-6, Hutton bowled Lyons with his third ball of the morning and then had Weereratna well caught at slip by skipper Scott Elstone to complete his five wicket haul.

Scotland added a further 46 before Scott Elstone came on and took the final two wickets ending with 2-9 from four overs. Ewan Chalmers, coming in after the third wicket fell, was not out 55

Brett Hutton finished with 5-71 from 18 overs and Jake Ball took 3-63 from 16 as Scotland were dismissed in 44 overs for 167.

Notts took a 56 run lead into their second innings which was increased by 63 with an opening stand from Akhil Patel and Sam Kelsall before Kelsall was leg before for 19. Sam Wood was run out for 10. Akhil Patel batted well with regard to the match situation as Notts tried to build on their lead on a pitch with bounce and help for the spinners. He reached a well deserved 50 before being well caught at short leg for 59.

Trialist Aaron Todd batted responsibly after his first innings golden duck to be not out on 41 at the close.

Ben McGuire had the misfortune to be run out backing up after the bowler had dropped a return catch from Todd and deflected the ball on to the stumps.

Taylor Williams, the Notts wicket keeper, was on 19 as bad light caused an early close with Notts on 189-4, a lead of 252

Over night rain and heavy rain this morning has made a restart improbable.
