Graeme Swann’s availability has prompted a top order re-shuffle with Nottinghamshire set to name Mark Wagh and Scott Newman in a new look opening partnership against Warwickshire tomorrow.

Swann’s inclusion means an unfortunate omission for Matt Wood who scored a season-best 86 against Sussex last week with Samit Patel and Adam Voges completing the top four.

Ryan Sidebottom will play with Mark Ealham and Andre Adams likely to be included and Darren Pattinson, Luke Fletcher and Charlie Shreck competing for the final place.

“It’s unfortunate that Woody has had to miss out but we had to make a change to make use of Graeme’s availability,” said Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“We’re 30 points behind the leaders and having an attacking spin option can help us to win the game. We’re able to name a strong side and we need to play positively.”

Chris Read captains the side with Ali Brown batting at number five.

Warwickshire will include England batsman Ian Bell and Indian fast bowler Sreesanth, their new overseas signing.
