Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read has been praised for his solid start to the season after being voted player of the month by club sponsors PKF.

Read has been in remarkable form behind the stumps and hit a memorable 142 against Yorkshrie at Headingley.

“Chris has made an outstanding start to the season and the extra responsibility of the captaincy hasn’t affected his wicket keeping at all,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“He has enjoyed good knocks against Yorkshire and Kent as well and he thoroughly deserves this award.”

Chris received a bottle of champagne from Paul Ellis from PKF and a voucher for Merchants restaurant.
