Derbyshire Phantoms brought an end to Notts Outlaws winning start to the Twenty 20 cup campaign with a final-ball four at Trent Bridge.

Needing only a single to win the game, Graham Wagg smashed Andre Adams through a tight field to earn the win.

Adam Voges hit 52 as the Outlaws won the toss and batted first but Derbyshire reached their target with Wavell Hinds top-scoring with 45.

Notts had managed 144-9 against a resolute Derbyshire attack but lost Bilal Shafayat and Chris Cairns in quick succession as the middle order stuttered.

Voges scored six fours as Will Jefferson (15), Bilal Shafayat (32), Chris Cairns (0) and Chris Read (8) were dismissed alongside him and Mark Ealham produced a late rally of 14 runs from 10 balls with Gareth Clough for company.

Graham Wagg was the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers, taking 3-23 including the prized wicket of Patel who went for five but hit back with three wickets in a prosperous spell that saw Clarke and Pipe caught on the boundary by Andre Adams and Hinds dismissed by his left-arm spin.
