Wayne Noon has backed Andre Adams to make an impact for the Outlaws after he scored 77 runs and took 4 wickets in last week’s Second XI Championship draw against Gloucestershire.

Adams hit eight sixes and two fours in his first innings total of 71 and is in contention for a place in the squad to face Durham on Wednesday.

Academy batsmen Matt Robins and Scott Elstone also put in solid performances but after most of day one was lost to rain, a draw had always looked likely.

“Andre has found his form and got over a few minor injuries and from what I’ve seen of him he will be a great asset to us and hopefully he’ll play a part in the quarter-final of the Friends Provident Trophy,” said Noon.

“Matt Robins batted at three and performed well and he certainly merits further inclusion in the side.”

Opening batsman Will Jefferson hit 77 in his second innings and AJ Harris finished with match figures of 6-31.

Nottinghamshire 2nd XI (193 & 190) drew with Gloucestershire 2nd XI (176-8d & 107-4)
