Young cricket fans looking to take up the sport outside school should make sure to visit one of Nottinghamshire’s 24 Focus Clubs.

The Notts Cricket Board awards Focus Club status to those identified as extremely well run across a variety of different areas.

Among the key criteria are having a strong youth development section; qualified and CRB-checked coaches for children and good facilities on which to train and play.

All Cricket Board affiliated clubs in the county are eligible to apply for Focus Club status, but the following 24 have already achieved this elite qualification:

Attenborough, Calverton, Caythorpe, Clifton, Clumber Park, Edwinstowe, Ellerslie, Farnsfield, Kimberley, Kinoulton, Kirkby Portland, Mansfield Hosiery Mills, Mansfield & Pleasley, Milton, Notts & Arnold Amateurs, Papplewick & Linby, Plumtree, Radcliffe on Trent, Ransome and Marles, Southwell, Thurgarton, Welbeck, West Bridgfordians, Wollaton.
