Ryan Sidebottom’s dream summer continuedwhen he was named in England’s one-day squad to take on the West Indies in theNatWest Series.
The 29-year-old, who claimed 16 wickets inthree matches on his comeback to Test cricket, is in a new-look 14-man squadfor two Twenty20 games and three ODIs.
And if Sidebottom proves his worth, hecould take the first step towards playing in the next World Cup.
England chairman of selectors DavidGraveney said: “We were keen to identify the best way for the team to play inthe one-day game, pick players who can perform certain roles and keep one eyeon the need to build towards the World Cup in 2011.”
Sidebottom’s selection means he will not beable to take part in the Outlaws Twenty20 Cup campaign.
But Nottinghamshire fans will get thechance to welcome Sidebottom back to Trent Bridge for the sold-out ODI onSaturday July 7.
