All-rounder Graeme Swann is confident he’ll be able to play a full part in our 2007 campaign after returning to training from an elbow injury.
The 27-year-old had surgery on the problem in the winter of 2006 but after the injury flared up again at the end of last season, opted for a programme of rest and fitness exercises this time around.

He said: “I had a chat with the surgeon and we decided to rest the elbow this time around. I had three months off before Christmas and then got back into training with the rest of the squad around Nottingham.

“The problem seems to be a nerve that keeps getting trapped, so I’ve been doing different exercises and stretches to try and stop it happening again.

“I don’t think it will ever be 100 per cent like when I was a kid but we know how to manage it and I’m confident about the summer.”
