Middlesex 91-0

Middlesex won by 35 runs (Duckworth-Lewis)

The experienced left-armer believes our batting line-up will come good and said: "Our batting line-up goes all the way down to 11.

"There aren't any rabbits in the team and opposition sides know they can't relax. Ryan Sidebottom has been in great form with the bat, I can stick around and AJ Harris is no mug either.

"Today's result was down to Chad Keegan having the day of his career and taking advantage of some juice in the pitch early on.

"That happens early in the season and we were a bit short of a total we could have defended.

"We always back ourselves to get a big enough score to bowl sides out but after Keegan's bowling we ended 50 short of what we needed.

"Perhaps the batsmen need a bit more match practice but we're still very confident."

Keegan produced career-best figures as he took the first six wickets to fall, finishing with 6-33.

Graeme Swann provided some early fireworks before he was bowled and Chris Read, Sidebottom and Smith produced stubborn resistance to bat through to the final over of our innings.

Middlesex openers Paul Weekes and Ed Smith survived some testing bowling from Greg Smith and Sidebottom to get ahead of the run-rate before the rain came down to end the match early.
