Notts cricketers play under the banner of Outlaws in one-day matches and the publicity initiative is geared towards attracting even more spectators to watch Twenty20 Cup matches at Trent Bridge this summer.

Skipper Stephen Fleming, along with Chris Read, David Hussey and Paul Franks, have adopted the world-famous outlaws of Sherwood Forest look and will be plugging the slogan: ?Outlaws . . . alive in Nottinghamshire?.

Said Fleming: ?Everyone associates Robin Hood and his outlaws with Nottinghamshire - even where I come from in New Zealand - and I was very happy to back the campaign.

?In fact, I thought we looked very convincing in our outfits. Maybe we should consider wearing them in one of our matches!

?The Twenty20 Cup is good fun, action-packed and very suited to the fast-paced lifestyle we now live in. I hope we?ll have big crowds watching us at all the matches and we give them the entertainment and results they are looking for.?

The campaign will run throughout June on buses and trams, supported by posters and postcards.

Said Notts? marketing & events co-ordinator Claire Harrison: ?Twenty20 has proved to be extremely popular since it was introduced two years ago and has attracted a brand new audience.

?Almost 20,000 people came to our three home matches last season, ranging from die-hard traditionalists to those who had never previously been to a cricket match, and they were treated to fantastic entertainment.

?We?re delighted to say that we have four home games in a new format for the competition this season and we?re running the publicity campaign to give people every chance to book their places.?

The Trent Bridge fixtures are against Lancashire (Friday June 24), Yorkshire (Sunday June 26), Leicestershire (Thursday June 30) and Derbyshire (Friday July 1).

Advance tickets cost ?8 for adults and ?4 concessions or ?10 and ?5 on the day. Call the Ticket Hotline on 0870 168 8888 or go to the Fixtures and Results page to book your place.
