Director of Cricket Mick Newell hopes fast bowlers Alex Morris and Saddiqi Philips can fill the hole in our squad left by the injury to seamer Charlie Shreck.Former Yorkshire and Hampshire seamer Morris and Philips, a quick with Notts Premier League side West Indian Cavaliers, are currently on trial at Trent Bridge and will be part of a 15-man squad that travels down to Hove for two friendlies with Sussex next week.Said Newell: "We've been in contact with the two during the past few weeks and have had Saddiqi bowling indoors over the winter."With Shreck missing for most of the season we are a bit light in the seam department and we want to see how they perform outdoors in a match situation."We take on Sussex in a two-day and one-day match after three weeks of pre-season training, including a week spent on the Algarve for fitness and fielding work.Added Newell: "The squad has been together for a while now and we all want to get outside for some match practice. The atmosphere is very good and we're all looking forward to the start of the season."
