Nuts the Outlaw helps steal the record
As I left my drey on Saturday morning to head up to NottinghamCastle, kitted out in my Lincoln-green hat and tunic, I was very worried about my fur getting wet as the skies were very overcast.
I was one of 1,119 intrepid adventurers who stormed the Sheriff of Nottingham’s home in an attempt to break a world record for the number of Robin Hoods in one place at one time. With participants from all parts of the globe, I made lots of new friends and spent much of the morning dancing along to the traditional medieval band and meeting the hundreds of youngsters and their parents who had turned up to show their support.
Despite the gloomy weather forecasts, the day remained dry and we nearly doubled the previous record as we stood on the green for 15 minutes whilst officials from Guinness verified the total. There were cheers all round when the announcement was made and many people stayed in their outfits all day to celebrate.
I, on the other hand, had to get home and do some training for this weekend’s ‘Sport Relief’ mile.
If you’re free this Sunday 16thMarch, you can come down to the Embankment and cheer me on from10am.
